oh my it's definitely not getting better.
flying LGW to MPL I arrive on plenty of time.
To my horror BA have bunched bronze Silver and Gold check in to one line.
as you can imagine it was probably 150 people long.
when you get to the last 3rd of the queue you find there is a first check in desk ( 2 desks 1 open) with zero signage and 20 people in the queue.

as a Gold Member I've seen the value deteriorate not only for things like Avios earned ( where the equivalent is better than Silver)

today customer service called me agreeing 100% offering me 10 000 avionics.

I explained I didn't do this for a prize or compensation but rather that management open their eyes.

I flu 100 legs a year long and short haul.
I don't like Star Alliance ( Lufthansa suck)

I'm debating Klm/ AF.

but really I'm an avid past BA fan and you just hang in hoping it gets better 😢

In my opinion, Lufthansa is still better than BA for both short and long haul. These days BA's short-haul product is only marginally better than Easyjet's. AF are alright, but having to transfer through CDG is a deal breaker for me. KLM is one of the better European airlines for both short and long haul, and AMS is an easier airport for transit.

BA reminds me plenty of American Airlines these days - AA used to be the best legacy carrier in the USA, but now its inflight product and reliability have dropped a considerable notch below UA and DL.

Star Alliance other than Lufthansa is still my prefered choice of airline group down to Asia, however I do think Skyteam and Oneworld do offer better posibilities to the USA from Europe..... Lufthansa I'd like to skip as you said, but SWISS or Austrian are worth trying.

I was having a discussion on Friday (10/01/2025) about this issue regarding BA both out of LGW and LHR and we came to the agreement that right now EasyJet is a far better option than BA.

BA are asking Club Members how they should spend a few million pounds right now and many of the answers are the same as we discussed about three years back on this site. Will BA listen? NO. It is just a self appeasing process they are going through.
