Hainan Airlines will re- start direct flights from Edinburgh to Beijing from 26th June which had been cancelled due to covid since late 2019.
Must be a demand for it?

Hainan Airlines is a Chinese airline. It'll get subsidies from the regime regardless of whether the route is profitable or not.

The previous EDI-PEK route operated via DUB if memory serves. I can't recall whether DUB was the origin/final destination of the flight or whether it was a triangle PEK-EDI-DUB-PEK flight, however.
